Set on a peninsula and serving as both main port of entry and the commercial center of the island, Corfu Town is home to nearly half the population of Kerkyra. Even visitors staying in outlying areas are likely to pay at least one visit to Corfu Town, as it is a bustling and vibrant city, as well as being rich in historical and scenic attractions. Stroll through the "old city" or the Jewish Quarter, visit both the old and the new fortresses, Mon Repos, the Achillion Palace, the Asian Art Museum, the Archeological Museum and Saint Spirodon Church. There are many fine restaurants and often free theatrical presentations in the National Theatre. Afterwards you can have a drink or a coffee at one of the many cafes on the Liston, where tourists and locals stroll day and evening.

“A great hostel”
5 of 5 starsReviewed 15 October 2012
I had a great time at Comfy Hostel. It is in an excellent location, about three minutes away from Ipsos beach and within walking distance to Dassia and Barbati which are both beautiful beaches to visit as well. The bus to Corfu town is just at the end of the street and only takes about 20 minutes. The owners are lovely and can suggest some great places to visit. I definitely recommend staying here!
